Also, what about all the people that died before Christ was born? They didn't have a chance to be born again or have any faith in Christ.

Catholics out there???

I was brought up a Catholic and I guess I always will be. I am searching for a church and and I am looking at WH, but I will probably just attend both occasionally.

Greg has done a few Q&A's on this topic, I forget which one it was exactly (I believe it is in the free for all Q&A done last year) Thessalonianas 4: 14-16 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus…

So the dead go to paradise, some kind of holding place I guess, until Jesus comes back and gathers the living and the dead and we live together in the new heaven and new earth he creates??? I guess I wondered if maybe those who died were just asleep…

Steve, This discussion has been very unsettling to me, but if there isn't a TRUE heaven in the sense that we humans think of it, then your response does help a bit, thank you.

Ok, people, now I'm very confused! I'm not as well read in the Bible as most of you, but I have always been told that when we die, depending on your heart towards God, you go to heaven. My husband died in a car accident 8 months ago and I would REA…

What about philippians 1:21-23? Also, Moses and Elijah are alive and appeared with Jesus on the mount of Transfiguration. All Thessalonians is saying is that when Jesus returns, those alive in heaven will rejoin their mortal body and be given a resu…

I've thought the exact same thought! I guess people who say that ("well he/she is in heaven now") really believe it or maybe they are just saying it to bring comfort. When my sister was 20, she passed away and many people said that to me. I smiled a…

It sounds like you are really over pouring your time. Maybe you need to cut back on volunteering and just go to church and be fed on the Spirit. Just a suggestion, but how about sending out verbal invitations to friendly faces with children to meet…

I think if you have a problem with meeting people you should volunteer at WH where you will meet others that may have the same interests and goals as you and your family. Be a greeter and welcome others to the community church, ask them about themse…

i find it hard to really know what to say when someones love ones pass, i know i use it, when a pet passes on when it comes to my kids, and they found it comforting. i really don t know a good answer for your question

I think it's probably more comforting to those who are grieving than saying they're in limbo. Why did Christ say "today you will be with me in paradise" and not "one day you'll be with me in paradise"?

Welcome to the site Sally. I'm jealous, you're a lot closer to woodland hills than us. We're in michigan which is about 13 hours away.
